Customers respond to enthusiasm
Did you know the Ancient Greeks thought enthusiasm was a gift from the gods? It is worth remembering, especially when watching successful business people at work. The best are always filled with enthusiasm.
Customers notice enthusiasm. They figure you enjoy your job, do it with intensity and will give them a better product or service as a result.
This same principle can work for the employees of large companies, too. For instance, one chain business supply store has workers who seem bored and dispirited. But over at their competitors, customers never walk in without being greeted by the check-out person at the door. A manager always looks up and asks if he can help.
These people are enthusiastic about business supplies. Many customers go there for no other reason than to get a lift from sharing their enthusiasm.
